The project requests companies for donations of used junk lead acid batteries earmarked for disposal. Once a donation is confirmed, Bantay Kalikasan in tandem with PRI, assures the proper pick-up, transport and disposal of donated batteries. PRI then, reprocesses the batteries, determines its monetary value and subsequently remits the money to ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc.

HOW IT BENEFITS THE COMPANY AND THE PCOs

     In donating the batteries to the project, the company’s Pollution Control Officers are relieved of the hassles of disposing their used lead acid batteries. How?

  • The project undertakes the pick-up and transport of donated batteries.
  • Transport Permit: ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. uses a nationwide Transport Permit during battery pick-up.
  • Bantay Baterya prepares the Hazardous Waste Manifest
  • Treatment Certificate: Issued 6 weeks after pick-up of donation
  • BIR Issued Certificate of Donation: The monetary value of the donated batteries is 100% Tax Deductible.

5. Forklift vehicle batteries
6. Aircraft batteries
7. Marine vessel batteries
